The Israeli military reports that their ground forces are ‘increasing’ their operations in Gaza.

The Israeli military has announced its intention to “expand its operations” in Gaza following two recent small-scale incursions into the territory. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, speaking on Friday, stated that ground forces are intensifying their activities to achieve the objectives of the ongoing conflict. These operations primarily focus on the destruction of Hamas tunnel complexes near the border with Israel and other designated targets.

It’s important to note that the conflict between Israel and Hamas has been ongoing, and there has been a significant buildup of Israeli forces at the Gaza border in anticipation of a potential ground invasion. The conflict began after a surprise Hamas attack resulted in the deaths of 1,400 Israelis, the majority of whom were civilians. In response, Israeli airstrikes have caused extensive damage in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of more than 7,000 Palestinians, including over 2,900 children, according to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry. This prolonged conflict has led to a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with over a million people displaced and critical shortages of food, water, fuel, and medical supplies.
